On the margins of the 67^th IAEA General Conference, India's Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) & Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (UJD SR) signed an MoU on 25/09/2023 for the exchange of technical information and cooperation in the field of regulation of the safe use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The MoU was signed by AERB Chairman, Mr. Dinesh Kumar Shukla, and UJDSR Chairperson, Ms. Marta Žiaková, in the presence of dignitaries of the respective countries.

AERB has recently issued licence for operation from radiological safety view point to Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) for the operation of Gantry Treatment Room-3 (GTR-3) of proton therapy facility model Proteus Plus, manufactured by Ion Beam Applications (IBA), Belgium. This is the first proton therapy facility in India established in a Government set-up. Read More

Permission for loading of Radial Blanket Sub-Assemblies in PFBR.
AERB has issued Permission for loading of radial Blanket Sub-Assemblies (SAs) in Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) core on April 10, 2024, after satisfactory safety review. The PFBR is India's first indigenous 500MWe Fast breeder Reactor, at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu . The reactor core loading signifies an advanced stage of commissioning, towards making the reactor operational.
